That's a good idea.  If small webcasters are denied reconsideration of
this ruling, they need to develop an alternative to SoundExchange and
deal directly with artists, as a way to promote new music.  The
traditional RIAA business model of manufacturing, distributing, and
retailing stamped pieces of plastic has become inefficient and
obsolete.  Let's eliminate the middlemen and move on.

As long as conventional radio stations are exempt from performance
royalties, independent American broadcasters who no longer can afford
Internet streams might now renew their efforts to adopt the "Italian
Allocations Plan."
