this is silly and dumb on all parts, why doesn't the fcc grant them a power increase and have them put in a directional antenna system. this would serve the community due to growth direction.
what a bunch of crap the fcc has turned into. wait isn't the fcc suppose to auction off the frequency regardless of who needs it or where it would serve a better usage?????
the fcc has deliberately took frequencies away from private companies and individuals who had applied and been given permission for such frequencies about a decade ago. then without any respect auctioned them off. to the highest bidders. now this is when senator mccain from az did his little proposal, and killed several business. this was after all the paperwork had been done, all the reading had been paid for by the individuals and or companies. all they needed was the license of the frequency. but the fcc took and auctioned the frequencies. and the private companies and individuals could not come up with the monies to re buy the frequencies. they spent the money and the fcc took in all the profits. i know i'm ranting, but least we forget the criminals the fcc has turned into. i worked for one of the little fm's that got screwed by the fcc, WZLS 96.5. i have no pity nor any respect for the fcc. i realize there maybe a few outside fcc guys that are on the up and up, but that!
still doesn't change my opinion. and still when has anyone actually talked with anyone in the main office of the fcc?? if you did, did you actually talked to a certified engineer??? or was it some yo ho who was hired to do a paper work job??? I SAY THERE ARE NO REAL ENGINEERS WHO ACTAULLY UNDERSTAND REAL RADIO IN THE FCC OFFICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY'RE ALL APPOINTED!!!!!!!!
and as TOM T. HALL once sang "hang 'em all, hang 'em all, hang 'em all.
any and all comments are very welcome.

I haven't been able to find the application, but the STA cover letter
indicates that the FCC decided in favor of WRHI's request because the
licensee "states that it is no longer able to serve its community of
license due to rapid expansion of the community and the technical
restraints imposed on its AM operation."
This letter is available at: http://tinyurl.com/325wr3
Information I found on the Rock Hill, SC website verifies the city has
been rapidly expanding:
http://www.cityofrockhill.com/onlineforms/Annual%20Growth%20Report%20July2006.pdf
WRHI was fortunate to be able to make this claim -- and to have the
right political connections. But suppose the population growth had
occurred in an adjacent municipality, bordering Rock Hill, but still
within WHMA's service contour. Would the FCC have denied the waiver
request?
