Chill out man.  I don't know what part of the Northeast you live in, but
I'm in northern N.H. and power outages here are few and far between.  I
think our electric utility is doing a great job.

As far as your rant against environmentalists, I agree that some of their
agendas go a bit overboard, but I enjoy being able to breathe the air and
drink the water without worrying about contracting some dread ailment. 
Maybe you don't mind smog and pollution...you're welcome to it, please
don't force it on me.
