[BC] AM band and the rules........rant

Robert,
Unfortunately, you are right. Gary & Willie need to wake up and learn
times have changed.
Back in the day Gary speaks of, you had 200 engineers and 10 lawyers at
the FCC. Today, it's the reverse, 200 lawyers and 7 engineers. It's
all about politics, and young people fighting over positions and out for
themselves. They are more concerned about making more money to pay for
that new home, swimming pool, college education for their kids, new car,
etc. Money in politics over rides the rules, PERIOD.

You are missing the bigger picture. We live in a world run by politicos
and lawyers. Neither want to hear about your problems and if you are
speaking up they will crush you. It is not just about radio becoming CB.
It is also about how the telephones will stop working reliably and how
we will progress towards Iraqi grade power distribution and how our life
expectancy and medical state will continue to fall compared to the rest
of the western world. You are working for the man, he owns you lock
stock and barrel. What is good for you or the people around you no
longer matter. They can get an illegal immigrant to do your job for
less. Sure, it might not be the same quality but that is the reason that
all standards must be eroded. It all goes to the bottom line. Radio will
be very unimportant when we can not keep the lights on and you are too
ill to care in the first place.
