[BC] Translator Question

Regardless of the programming, there would likely be some interference in
the overlap area. This would sound like multipath interference, because
that is effectively what it is -- a phase differential between the two
signal sources. It doesn't matter (much) how far the respective translators
are from the main transmitter. If the main transmitter serves the
interference zone, it may not be much of a problem, as listeners are most
likely to be tuned to that signal.
