I agree completely with Jerry, above. To those of you who are saying that the AM band will turn into CB, that is exactly what *your* mentality is leading us towards! "Rules? Who cares! Sign-on whenever you feel like it! Power? Buy a 500Kw box, and let 'er rip!"

Yeah. CB'er mentality, all the way. It's damned shameful, that's what it is! Disgusting, and shameful! >:[

I fwe let them get away with it, more will jump onto that bandwagon. Daytimers everywhere will begin staying on all night. Night DA's won't bother to switch. PSSA's will stay on at full power... sure, jump on in, the water's fine! Go ahead and pee in it, everyone else is!

When the pool is a deep yellow, and stinks to high heaven, then what? What will have been accomplished?

I am beginning to get the impression, here that it isn't just the FCC that's turning a deaf ear to AM Radio, but even some of the people to whom it's care and control have been entrusted: our fellow Broadcasters. Flouting the Rules is OK with you? Really? Then don't say *anything* when some pirate fires-up on YOUR frequency, OK? Don't say ANYTHING when the co-channel 100 miles away decides to go non-D and flood your listening area with his signal. Oh, wait... now *your* ox is being gored, and you want to scream bloody murder? Well, well... isn't this exactly what you WANTED, though? Blatant violation of the Rules? go buy yourself a 50Kw box, then. Power it up and drown him out. Then he gets one, and fights fire with fire.

Goodness gracious, doesn't this sound familiar? A lot like the late 20's Signal Wars? Wasn't the FCC created in fact, to stop this and prevent its recurrence?

Just because that station across town isn't on *my* frequency, doesn't mean I shouldn't object when he violates the Rules... his operation outside licensed parameters harms *everyone* as it sets a precident!

What if he was on *your* frequency, (anyone taking this "wrong" side of this argument) and was thus contributing significantly to the harmful interference your station received every night?

What about a 50Kw station that fails to shut-off it's IBUZ, and is now completely obliterating stations on either side, for hundreds of miles around?

I honestly cannot believe the attitudes I am seeing here! Let the scofflaws get away with it?? What are you talking about?!!? Y'all actually *WANT* anarchy?!? <:O Gahhhh!

Go to 27Mhz... the whole lot of ya that feel this way! I am just totally aghast! <:O
