If it is one of the two in the ipa/pa screen voltage
metering circuit I don't see any reason you could
not use composition resistors. I would replace them both
with a couple of 1 or 2% composition or metal film
resistors.

Milton is on the list. He probably knows for sure.

I do have a fire extinguisher if you need it :-)
