I worked a campus gig at KBOX in 1962 while attending SMU in  Dallas.   At 
that time they were running an EMT Echo like KLIF.   They had an Echo button 
with a Fisher "SpaceExpander" on the microphone channel  for the weather tower.  
News could also activate the echo on their mike for  the news datelines.  
There was also a Fusher unit in  Production.   I don't recall any full time tape 
echo units at  KBOX.  The EMT was located up the hill from the studios, behind 
the  transmitter.  At the time I was there we had two cart players in the main 
 control room.  They were starting to convert to cartridges.  The  McKenzie 
was used for breaks and jingles.  Commercial were still  ET's.   We used three 
of the four turntables for commercials, intros  and promos.  One of the 
Turntables had the 45 rpm well in the table and it  was used for the top 40 tunes 
and was the front one on the right side.
