  The biggest difference between the MW 50, MW 10 and MW 5 is really the size of the components. In all three units the PA floats and is in series with the modulator switching tube. The biggest difference is that in the MW 50 the RF section which includes both the PA and the driver ends up being in a large floating box that consumes one full cabinet. In the MW 10 and 5 the PA is in the same cabinet as the modulator it is simply in an insulated socket with blocking capacitors on both the input and the output. This greatly reduces the size of the overall unit. MW1 was a solid state TX with totally different technology.
