The only problem I've ever had with Verizon DSL here at my office is when
the dynamic IP updates, my routers dont always update, and my connection
fails. I'm too cheap to go to a static IP. However the FIOS connection I
have at home is a Static IP and has been bullet proof. In fact I've been
hosting a website on it and it has been bullet proof.

I had some problems with Suddenlink on a new system here we replaced our old one with. I had
intermittent problems such as you describe. I did a DSL Speed test on it and found that it was
running much slower (56% slower!) than similar connections from the same provider. When I did a
traceroute on it, I found the offending waypoiint and after I gave that info to them, the problems
went away, and service improved. Maybe you have something like that working against you.
