[BC] Why an older transmitter may be a good choice

We all miss the good ole days, and these past two weeks, I have
reflected on the good ole days, as my father passed away on the 9th of
this month, but one thing Robert he did teach me was using good business
sense, and move on with the times. My dad was with me in 1998 when we
went to Harris and purchased a new Gates 1 box at the factory, and we
retired the old Collins 20V-3.

My father understood this business enough to say the same thing, so
would have my grandfather. Upgrades are vital to the operation of any
business to stay afloat and meet the public's demands, and maintain a
good budget, if the station is not having budget problems.

Always prepare & plan for the future. Sit down and do the math!

Thanks for the report, Scott. I am sure many who understand this
business as a business can share similar experiences. One thing about
those good old days. Memory probably clouds the fact of whether they
were actually that good or not, but they sure were old.
