[BC] sats merger

Again, I can't grasp the concept that they'll ever bail themselves out of
debt without going to heavy commercialization. As Rich stated, subscribers
will only bear so much in fees. So do they raise rates and drive some
listeners away, or do they drop rates and go to commercials making them more
on a par with terrestrial, or some kind of arrangement in between? I don't
really see it as them being easier to listen to, and the better declines as
they reduce channel numbers. Sounds like an opportunity for terrestrial to
step up with content and technology.

What I see missing in this discussion is how this will impact terrestrial
broadcasting. You all seem to be concerned about XM's and Sirius's problems,
and forgetting that these guys are out to eat our lunch. If it becomes
easier/better to listen to satellite radio, that's money out of OUR pockets,
and food out of OUR mouths.
