I can't speak for every market, however I can tell you that 
Entercom's top-brass has made it very clear - the HD2's 
have the same priority of being on the air as do their companion
FM's.    All markets have Audemats with alarms etc.
This is a lot to do with attittudes from the top down.

As for consumer interest in HD - All I know is that I keep 
running into people who have new HD radio's in their cars...and 
no - they are not broadcast engineers. Perhaps the nature of 
the folks in the Seattle area has something to do with it, we do 
have our share of technogeeks around here.
