Hi Tom....

Well lets see, you mentioned there was a remodeling...so anytime gear is
moved, rewired, reracked. etc etc...something is always bound to happen ...of
course if something happens, it will be middle of the night or during a bad storm.
[Mr Murphys law...hahaha!] And yes I know about that blizzard from
Wednesday....we got hammered pretty good here in CNY.
Anyhow...how does the signal compare on the receiver that took a vacation
with respect to the other working receivers? Maybe you can rule out any RF
cabling problems. Other than that, heat build up could be a possible issue....but
considering that the receiver was left to do a circus balancing act [ why would
anyone leave a multi thousand dollar receiver to chance in taking the grand
plunge to the floor is beyond me ]...I would also look for some external loose
connections. A non-working fan in the receiver along with other heat generators
probably didn't do that Starguide any favors. Keep a close eye on the
receiver...and if you can get more air in and out and moving around all of those heat
generators, the better.

At any rate...keep some of those small fans on hand. It has been my
experience that they will fail and the first sign of impending failure is a noisey fan.
[buzzing rattling type sound...we've heard that tune many times with computer
fans too]
