I've seen a few Mackies in radio production rooms, but not in on air
studios.  Unless there's a model I'm not aware of, the lack of a cue bus
would be a concern - and as you mentioned, muting for the mics...among other
things that I can't think of right now....

Except for RF.  How RF proof are these consoles?  Looking at the pics on
your website you've got a vintage RCA xmitter on premises....

(Speaking of those pics..am I seeing exposed 833s in the cabinet of that
transmitter....probably not...but I gotta ask....)

Back in the 80s, I "rebuilt" an old Gates tube console (think it was a 
Dualux something/whatever) by replacing the output section with an ATI
mic preamp....it worked well for a long time (at then-KTRC, 1400, Santa Fe,
NM).

If the pots and switches are still decent in that RCA console, you might
consider this approach.  And if it still sounds OK despite its weight/boat
anchor appearance - why bother doing anything?
