ISTM that Armstrong started out as a transmitter rebuilder/reseller and
branched out into selling new product. What I would like to know is
Armstrong a re-badged something-else, or is it their own manufacture?
I don't know about all their products, but most appear to have originated at
RVR in Italy. BEXT sells very similar products too, many of them are also
from RVR. That is not necessarily bad. RVR makes quality stuff, and they
will make it with special modifications or additional features for a particular
brand. Especially in the world of small transmitters, the Europeans have
been doing this for years and they make very reliable products.
To my knowledge both Armstrong and Bext have good reputations for serving
their customers needs, and that is a very important thing to consider. I'd
rather pay a little more for something that "absolutely suits my needs" rather
than get a bargain on something that isn't well suited for my purpose. A good
dealer/distributor can help a lot on those matters. Service past the sale is
also an important factor. It doesn't take long to forget the "bargain" when
there is nobody to help you after the sale.
