I can remember an older engineer claiming that the Hi Watter series used
lower cost components with wider tolerances. I don't know if there was any
truth to that. I still have a BC 1-F as a backup at one station and it has
a Hi Watter sticker inside it. The 1-F is the two cabinet kilowatt, built
like a tank. Loudest tube transmitter I have ever owned. The 1F dates back
to around 1948, well before the days of "tin." Suppose they made a regular
series transmitter and a Hi Watter in the same module?
