I can remember some years ago WADK 1540 Newport RI ran a BC-1G as the
main. With aggressive processing and a half-wave tower, it got
out. At one time, WNTN 1550 Newton MA complained bec. WADK was
cutting into their coveage area-and WNTN runs 10 kW! WADK still has
the 1G as an aux, and it goes on the air during bad thunderstorms to
protect the current Nautel box. I also had a chance to work on a 1G
at WFBS 1280 in Berwick PA. That one screamed too.
