[BC] Harris Corp. Seeks Cuts in Transmitter Business

Well, you know when I grew up to be in the position of having a lot of
purchasing power, I did buy Harris gear including a number of MW 50s. I
bought enough that I was invited to Quincy for a number of focus groups
as to how to improve the products both technically and image wise. The
phrase Quincy Tin works was used more than once by a number of engineers
in those focus groups. We collectively pretty well ripped many of the
existing products at the time. Those focus groups and other research
done at the time is what brought about the fine products made today. Bob
Wireather was the man IMHO who was responsible for pushing for the turn
around of both the quality and design of the brand. Things have changed
drastically since the bad old days. I am sure the company will survive
the cut backs.
