Parker was shaking his head at the ineptitude of Harris 
management of the radio business when he left the old 
Hampshire St. building down by the river 40 years ago.

However, it is much more likely that some of the pieces
will be sold off as transmitter demand returns to normal.
I thought this was the reason they tried to revive the
Gates name 10 years ago, and it might have been. But,
demand spiked with digital rolling out in TV and radio
so they stuck around.

For those who are nostalgic, the true "spirit" of Gates
left the building with Larry Cervone and George Yazell
when they moved across town and started producing a
full equipment line with what had been Spotmaster.
