Big box consumer electronics retailer Best Buy has created

a private-label brand, following a manufacturing strategy similar to 
that of PC makers Dell, HP, and Gateway. The Insignia line of PCs, TVs, 
and DVD players are all built using contract manufacturers, which keeps 
production costs low. With the Insignia brand, Best Buy plans to compete 
directly with low-cost competitors such as Dell and eMachines.
