[BC] Web hosting?

I use HostMySite.com. It costs $107.40 per year including $8.95
domain registration. They have on-line web-page builders plus stuff
to take credit cards, etc. I don't use them. I just upload everything
using ftp. I write the web-pages with an editor and syntax-check with
available tools. I also use ipowerweb.com. However, their statistics
won't work last time I checked so I have no clue if anybody actually
accesses the site. The costs is cheaper, but I forgot what it was. I
use this site to forward web-page access and email to my main site. I
also use ftp here so I don't bother using or even learning to use the
on-line tools.

HostMySite uses Windows and ipowerweb uses BSD Unix. In both cases,
the OS is transparent. Both sites have been reliable, i.e., they seem
to be always on-line. HostMySite sends an email notification if they
are going to be off-the-air for software updates, etc. Ipowerweb
doesn't. They just send me a bill once a year!
