 It's really not that tough.
 What I do, and recommend, is to simply register your own domain, and
 point it back ( through either dynamic DNS or a static IP ) to your own machine.

 Total cost, about $30 a year over your normal ISP connection. Maybe less.

 Also recommend a machine ( cheap ) to be your web/mail server.
 Mine is several years old, but keeps on chugging !
 Of course, you probably don't want to do this with Microsoft stuff.
