[BC] TM's Tomorrow Radio

Hmmm,

I think you are correct, in a sense. Back in 1977 there was plenty of
fodder for satire at the local level. Obviously what made Tomorrow Radio
work was the fact that the jokes worked in every market. Much in the same
way you could watch WKRP and find the characters in every market.

Now, in a post-consolidation world, more material is relevant to more
folks--every market sounds alike.

Not really a good thing. But you're right, it makes for easier satire.

Stan

I think we've progressed beyond the square dance. As exciting as
those times were I'd love to do another on radio today. Instead of 24
track 2 inch tape we'd use a nonlinear editor. The whole thing could
be done on a laptop with Adobe Audition. There's much more fodder for
satire today than ever before.
