[BC] HD Kills

Leonard hasn't revealed many details, but from what I've been able to
piece together, it's his independent sideband AM stereo system
combined with audio bandwidth extension, using a digital scheme to
carry the frequencies above 7.5 kHz. The digital information is
transmitted under the analog channel in a manner similar to the
"tertiary sidebands" of iBiquity's system, therefore it stays within 5
kHz of the AM carrier and doesn't invade the adjacent channels. I'm
not sure what type of codec he is using.

The Wikipedia entry on CAM-D agrees with what I've heard on the street:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAM-D

Before passing judgment, I would like to compare it side-by-side with
the iBiquity system, but I don't know of any commercially available
receivers. It's quite possible that the subjective performance of
CAM-D would be considered superior to AM "HD Radio" by most listeners,
even though its a hybrid system.
