Radio Shack also had a major share of the "home computer" market and
let that slip away. Not that the "Trash-80" was a great machine, but
they did take the lead in putting microcomputers in the hands of
consumers and small businesses.
One sales practice that annoys me is their insistence to take down my
name and address when buying two dollars worth of parts and paying in
cash. It seems some stores stopped doing that in the past year --
but now they no longer stock many of the parts I need, so it's a moot
point.
