I thought that Radio Shack itself has become satire... They mockingly act
like an electronics store.....

Well, it was at one time. There was a time when you could go in, ask for
any electronic part you wanted or needed, and the store clerk immediately knew
what you wanted. He'd either show you where it was and what it was, or order
it for you. They also had in-store tube testers so you could bring in your
radio or TV tubes and test them. If you needed a new one, you could get it
right there in the store.
Nowadays, Rat Trap is nothing more than an overpriced consumer-electronics
store. You'd be hard-pressed to find an electronic component in one of their
stores! These days, you ask a clerk for a resistor, capacitor, or rectifier,
and they have no idea what you are talking about!
