It's one of the last believable sources of news left. The other is 
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Last night Bill Moyers did an 
interesting show on the mainstream media being a voice of the 
government, afraid to seriously investigate government claims. One 
interesting approach was to leak a story to the New York Times, then 
appear on the Sunday talking head shows and quote the article as proof.

It appears there was a lot of blind acceptance of government sources 
to support going to war. The Knight-Ridder papers did serious 
investigations and found little to support what the "papers of 
record" were reporting.

The Onion can't be much less accurate.
