This seems to confirm that there's a large tree in the ground system.

There used to be a tower to the left of the main house when I worked 
there. It was, I believe, 500 ft. and supported the 12 bay FM 
antenna. They've sure gone on a building spree since then. It was 
just a small house with the transmitter shack directly behind and a 
single tower. I was there when we constructed the FM tower and 
increased power to 50Kw ERP for what was WKOX-FM. The AM was still 
1Kw at 1190, days.
