Such conductors are measured in MCM ... thousands of circular mills.

A conductor is not rated as to voltage ... that is taken into account by 
the insulation system, which, for 500 kV, could be about 27 feet.

A 500 kV ACSR conductor could be about 2" in dia., and would be spliced 
with crimp sleeves which are about 2-1/2 to 2 feet long.
