Well, as I posted on Monday, I was at the electronics department at the
local Wal-Mart at 12:01 am on Tuesday morning, waiting for the clerks to
dig through 16 cartons to find 'KRP. (And we weren't even the first in
line--some woman on her way home from work was waiting for a movie for
her husband...)

I'm now 2/3 of the way through the set. Frankly, for all of the wailing
and knashing of teeth that was going on all over the 'net about the
music edits, I don't see it as being a big deal. There are only one or
two places where it really makes a difference. The edits are clean, and
if one didn't know that the music wasn't original, it would be hard to
tell that from listening.

The thing that really stood out to me was the video--it appears that
there is some generation loss here. Given the series' history in
syndication, with editing and re-editing, that's not surprising. I
probably shouldn't have expected miracles, and I really wasn't. As I
think about it, WKRP is just about the oldest series I have on DVD that
was originally recorded on tape--"Match Game" and one episode of "Howdy
Doody" being older.

Bottom line? I'd give it a thumbs-up...

It's good to see that most of the episodes have been released at close
to their original lengths.
