[BC] frustrating Adobe Audition

the program is the splash screen with a speaker on it, the error
message pops 
up, and when I acknowledge the error message, I am shortly threafter
taken 
back to my desktop.

For whatever reason, the program will not take me to the main AA 1.5
screen. 
I even uninstalled the program then reinstalled. I get the same
results.<<

Will the program start if you boot into safe mode?
