SoundBlaster makes a consumer grade external audio interface that connects  
via USP.  Essentially, it is an external audio card with stereo RCA inputs  and 
outputs mounted in a small plastic box.  It also has optical in and  out, 
unbalanced mono mic input and a stereo headphone jack. Mine claims to be a  
"Creative Labs Model Number SBO270."  It seems to work fine and cost about  $39.95 
at Wal-Mart.  Maybe it will work for you.
