Hmmm... interesting... how the *bottom* of your short list is actually the
*top* of mine! ;)

The old adage, "You get what you pay for" is absolutely true. In nearly 20
years in this biz, I have heard *nothing* negative about Nautel, and everything

*positive*. I think you would do well to see if you can afford the additional
cost. Believe me, it's worth it. The quality of the box, along with their
*outstanding* customer service has put them squarely at the top of my very shor
t
list.

Back in 1996/7, it was down to Harris & Nautel for our new 5kw box. At that
time, Nautel did not have a tunable output, Harris did. I do not regret getting

the Harris Gates 5 for a minute, though. :) It's been a "cream puff". The
only "major" work it has needed in all this time, was the replacement of 4 larg
e
electrolytic caps in the PDM system. (Their failure mode: sloshing.)

Suffice it to say, if the time ever comes that I need a new box, it's going
to be a Nautel. Over time, the additional up-front expense will work itself out

to be a bargain!
