We put an Energy-Onix FM in at the small station I worked at in the
Caribbean about 15 years ago. I worked directly with Bernie. The guy
has no shortage of opinions, but his advice and his gear was rock solid.
It's a volunteer station with no real engineer. The thing is still on
the air after considerable abuse, and it sounds fantastic.
I also moonlighted at a commercial station where the owner had made
considerable investment in brand new gear. He was visibly upset after
listening to our little station with the shoe-string budget and hearing
how good it sounded. He didn't have a backup xmitter at the time, but
then started wondering if he really needed all that power he was paying
for to run his giant BE when we sounded just as good across the island.
If the Energy-Onix AM gear is as good as the FM, it should do good
service for you.
