All inspectors are not created equal, meaning as their opinions vary,
the rule for you varies a bit. I just try to have a level of
confidence based on my own ascertainment of what the rules appear to say.

I *can* say that Tampa and Kansas City agents are ok with electronic
EAS logs because they've been happy with ours on several occasions.

Ours exist on a laptop in a Notepad document only. They get there
from the EAS unit, not transcribed from a thermal tape (our unit has
no thermal printer). Our station log makes a reference to the EAS
tests with a rubber stamp each week that says, "DATA ON LAPTOP." It
is stamped over the pre- printed EAS line queries.

If the required tests were not received in full, then a notation is
made on the Station Log, not the electronic log.

A pdf of one page is here:

About 16 stations use this log format. The data for each station is
changed in Word. Then using "Mail Merge" the date and page # fields
are merged all in one printing of the 52 pages.

Commentary: Re: Station Log: you don't get brownie points for having
items in the station log that aren't of concern to the FCC. If you
load up the station log with stuff that isn't a rule item, you just
cause clutter and frustration at an inspection.

Use other logs for non-rule items.
