I don't know that they plan to do with McCarran since a new airport is going
in down south between Jean and Primm, scheduled to open in 2017. MGM-Mirage
has closed the Nevada Landing in Jean and is planning a "mixed-use"
development NW of I-15, probably to provide housing and shopping for the
airport workers.

Yes, the metro area has almost filled in all the way to the sountains south
and west of town, where there wasn't much other than sand and creosote
bushes a few years ago. I reckon it will keep on filling in along the I-15
corridor.

As to the NAB -- the Barix In/Exstreamer will probably get a "Cool Stuff"
award, as its uses are limited only by one's imagination. I liked the new
Burk remote control too; it has an IP port and you can tie surveillance
cameras into it, even. Bob Heil gave us a good demo on his mics and I am
impressed. And let me tell you, I don't get impressed very easily. Good
stuff! The Oxygen 4 is a cute mixer from Axel Technology, as is the new one
from AEQ. And I was surprised at how small the new boards are
from Audioarts and Broadcast Tools. I expected them to be a bit more
substantial. I continued my annual tradition of just missing Sam Lane (RF
Specialties) at the Nautel booth. Oh well, maybe next year...
