Those of you in Las Vegas this week might ask the NAB's leadership why
they weren't more aggressive in their efforts to oppose the RIAA when
the issue of streaming royalties first arose in the late '90s.   At
that time, it was already clear to most of us that the future of
broadcasting would depend on the Internet -- but instead, NAB chose to
concentrate its firepower on community groups who wanted
third-adjacent low-power FM.
