         Yes ... I think most observers would
         agree with you.

         The real question is when the industry
         will rise up out of the mud long enough
         to stop all the degrading crud that
         some outlets push on their "community,"
         teaching them that prison culture is so
         much better than learning to read and
         speak English, develop respect for others
         as well as a work ethic.

         The answer, sadly, is probably as soon
         as any sense of reality hits Washington.
         More likely, we'll see a epidemic of
         political posturing until the next blond
         with a cute name goes missing. Then
         it will end.

         Unless we see some Program Directors
         and GMs with backbone address this
         issue in an honest fashion, we will
         continue to sink into the maze of
         ever deeper nastiness in any social
         discourse.

         Now that Imus has been double fired,
         most of this topic is probably best served
         on the Alternate Frequency, subject to
         certain warm climates freezing over and
         some useful discussion ensuing.

         Do not hold your breath.
