Actually, the perfect response would have been:  "I'll come on your
show and apologize ONLY after you, Rev. Sharpton, apologize for using
Tawana Brawley to mount your unwarranted attack on Stephen Pagones...and
ONLY after you, Rev. Jackson, apologize for your 'Hymietown' slur."

The thing that surprised me was that Imus, who has been in this game a
long time, didn't see that he was being set up.  Nothing he said or did
would have made any difference to these so-called men of God.  He let
them define the debate, which was the wrong approach.
