I have heard of FM stations using a Ramsey FM25 as an exciter.

Oh no... this *must* a case of "You can't make this stuff up!"
That has got to be one of the WORST cases of "engineering" ever! Can anyone
else top this?

This is as funny as the story I heard about a station manager who wanted to
use a Mr. Microphone for a backup transmitter. The man either liked RF burns
(assuming a VERY high powered Mr. Mic), or was not particularly concerned
with
coverage beyond the receptionist's desk.
But this too, is one of those stories you can't help wondering if it is bull
feces or not.
