[BC] UPS Damaged Goods

We have hanging on the office wall the crushed remains of a TV modulator.
It was in service at one of our rural sites and the power supply failed.
Steve Hamlin, the guy in our office that is tech support for our Alaska
Rural Communications Service (ARCS) televison stations sent them a new
modulator and received the old one. He packed it up and sent it to Larcan
as it was still in warranty. Several days later he received a phone call
from Larcan. 'Hey, you really don't expect this to be a warranty claim do
you". They emailed Steve a picture and it was in sorry shape. Someone at
FedX had run over the box with a fork lift truck or perhaps it had gotten
stuck in a conveyor. Someone grabbed it, stuck it in another box, and sent
it on its merry way. We had sent it FedX ground and Steve was amazed to
hear from Larcan three days after shipping. FedX workers had hurried it out
of the building via next day service!
