[BC] Worst 'engineering' ever seen

Years ago I helped do an audio proof on a station in central Missouri.
While we were waiting to sign off the AM/FM/co-located with studios I
noticed that the "patch bay" to switch remote lines into the Gates audio
console was a pattern of finish nails driven into the side of the cart rack
with wires wrapped around them (not soldered), and alligator clips crimped
onto cross connect wires for the patch cables. I asked the jock on duty how
well that worked, and he said that it usually was fine, but if the signal
got "buzzy" he would wiggle the alligator clips and the nails until the buzz
went away.
