[BC] New Jones Receiver

When we first installed the new Jones receiver, it would not work. It was
sharing an LNB with two Starguides and a Comstream. It requires more signal
strength than a Starguide. We replaced the old, spliced, RG-6 and
consumer-grade splitters with RG-11 and one commercial-grade splitter. This
solved the problem with signal strength, at least enough that it works with
no problems. I plan to install an amplifier to boost the signal up to an
ideal level. Our receiver was on a UPS. The new Jones receivers boot very
slowly. I would advise having it on a UPS.
A few weeks after it was installed, it went dead. It would get stuck on
"booting" or something to that effect. We called Jones, and they stepped us
through a couple of things, but with no success. Jones had us send the
receiver back to Wegener. They paid for the shipping. We got it back last
week, and so far it is working fine.
