I am passing along a response to some of the comments about the 111C repeat  
coils from my good friend Bill Whitlock who now runs Jensen transformers.

Jensen makes the following standard  (deliverable off-the-shelf) designs that 
are functional equivalents of the  Western Electric 111C "repeat coils". All 
have multiple internal Faraday  shielding, external magnetic shielding cans, 
-3 dB bandwidth extending from well  under 1 Hz to at least 200 kHz, and 
extremely low harmonic distortion. The three  models vary in package and level 
handling ability - remember that level-handling  for a transformer must specify 
frequency and that, for the same THD, level  handling always decreases with 
frequency. The single-piece, end-user prices  are $133, $137, and $196, respectiv
ely. OEM and quantity pricing (which begins  at quantity 4) are considerably 
lower. These "repeat coil" designs, which  combine the properties of input 
transformers (Faraday shielding) and output  transformers (ability to drive long 
cables/capacitive loads) are widely  used for patchbay applications. The
