More likely that the demand is way too small and
the cost way too high.
Imagine, a mu-metal toroid. Where would a manufacturer
buy those today? And, at what cost in 1k quantities?
WE probably made their own.
Most of what WE did may be older than dirt, but, in many
ways, they invented audio, and the basic physical
principles have not changed.
