That's the best thing for it, give it a second life as an Ham
Transmitter! If I had the time, I do the same thing!

Marty Hijmans and I built one in the station owner's garage in about
1971
or so. The 707 has a built in dummy load (toaster coils in the air
exhaust
area above the tubes), so we burned it in getting power from a dryer
outlet. It's currently in standby operation at the same station
(1400kHz,
San Luis Obispo, maybe 100 miles south of KRKC). I hope to some day get
it
as a ham transmitter.
