Hello most worthy brain trust, and RF guys also,
I have a problem (again) with computer technology.
I just installed a 64 X 64 audio router, but can't use it because
the mouse won't work!! Here is the situation:
The operator is some 50 feet from the router computer. This thing is rack mounted,
and there is also another exact same type computer that IS working. The difference is op systems.
The working unit is WIN NT, the in-op system is WIN XP PRO. I have 50 foot extention cables
on the keyboard and mouse of the XP unit. The keyboard works, but not the mouse. I reversed the kyboard
and mouse cables, same result. To check, I moved the mouse cable from the OPERATING computer (NT)
to the XP unit. The mouse quit working. Move it back, all is happy.
Our computer "expert", who the government has spent 30K $$ on for computer training, doesn't have
any idea why it won't work. I have always gotten excellent advice from this group.
The router can be controlled from the rack mounted mouse/keyboard, and with a "real" mouse plugged in.
I can't make the final connections until I can operate the system from the operator's console.
I need to remove the audio lines from the old 3-M system and move them to the SAS 32KD system.
Anywho..thanks for any and all help.
