Since the stage is a fairly linear amplifier, it ought to be able to be
replaced with a rack mount or bolt in 300 or so watt SS amp and there are
tons on the market, and many are not FCC certified.  But with a couple of
high power 6dB pads it ought to work.....don't ya think? You might need to
use a high power torroid choke to provide further isolation and impedance
transformation, but it should do well.

Should be pretty stable too.
