Yes, the XM-PCR along with a program called "Time Trax" and it does a decent
job too.
Sometimes you have to go back and do a little trimming but it gives you a
great music library for your ipod. It even knows it the song is a duplicate
and throws out the new one, if you wish.

I go my PCR when they were $49.95..

Notice I did not say I actually do this ;-)

ahh, the XM-PCR-- I have one, and it works great! I use it to record the
Mix shows on the dance stations on friday and saturday nights (when i'm
usually out at a club myself) then just load them onto my ipod to listen to
during the week at the gym.

I'm told that things are slightly different now, but somebody also came up
with a mod for the unit, which I also use, that lets it output SPDIF audio
and bypass the crappy D>A converter in the unit itself, so when people were
recording these songs off XM they were really getting the best quality
possible. This apparently really ticked off some people at the RIAA as you
said. I got mine for PC connection years ago for $49.99, if i knew they
were going to be a 'collectors item' i would have bought them by the
caseload. The units modded for SPDIF output are worth their weight in gold
on XM underground sites and ebay.
